Kristen V. Brown is a NYC-based journalist and current M.A. candidate at Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. Before heading back to school, she was the Editor of Park Slope Patch, a hyperlocal news website owned by AOL that she launched in December 2010. She has also been a founding editor of The Caravan magazine in New Delhi, a bi-monthly Indian journal of politics and culture, the founder of the blog bklynfoodie.com and a food columnist for The Brooklyn Paper. In the name of journalism, she has eaten insects, played volleyball with with the pros and trekked to India’s export hubs to report the effects of the global recession. Kristen’s features on culture, politics, food and art have appeared in publications including The New York Daily NewsamNew YorkNew York Press, The Brooklyn Paper and Curve magazine.
